No McDonald's in Uzbekistan 2026
There is no Big Mac price for Uzbekistan because there is no McDonald’s — a trademark was filed in March 2024, but no store had opened as of 2026.
Why Uzbekistan has no Big Mac price
There is no McDonald’s in Uzbekistan, so there is no Big Mac price to publish. In March 2024 a company called Reach Impex filed a McDonald’s trademark in Tashkent, and the news was widely reported as an imminent arrival. As of 2026 there is still no operational store.
The Burger King precedent is the reason to be cautious about that filing. Burger King announced Uzbekistan in 2021 and did not open its first Tashkent restaurant until early 2026 — a four-and-a-half-year slip. A trademark registration is cheap and often defensive; a McDonald’s supply chain is neither.
Meanwhile the Western fast-food layer has filled in around the gap. KFC has roughly 27 outlets nationwide, Wendy’s four in Tashkent with a stated goal of twenty by 2030, Domino’s launched in 2024, and Burger King opened its first restaurant in early 2026. The local chain EVOS is the volume player. McDonald’s is the conspicuous absence.
What that costs a reader is real comparability, not just a missing row. Uzbekistan imports almost all of its branded-fast-food beef, and dollar input costs at controlled spot rates leave little headroom — which is why Western-brand combos in Tashkent already price well above what the country’s GDP per capita would predict. Whenever McDonald’s does arrive, the launch price is likely to land in the upper half of the index rather than the bottom quartile.
Until a store actually opens, this page carries no Big Mac price. The Central Asian republics plus Mongolia — around 85 million people, more than Germany — have no line in the Economist’s index at all.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a McDonald’s in Uzbekistan?
No. As of 2026 there is no operational McDonald’s anywhere in Uzbekistan, despite a trademark filing in March 2024.
Is McDonald’s coming to Tashkent?
A company called Reach Impex filed a McDonald’s trademark in March 2024, which was widely reported as an imminent arrival. No store has opened. Burger King’s own Uzbekistan timeline — announced 2021, opened early 2026 — suggests a trademark filing is a weak predictor of an opening date.
Which Western fast-food chains does Uzbekistan have?
KFC has around 27 outlets nationwide, Wendy’s has four in Tashkent, Domino’s launched in 2024 and Burger King opened its first restaurant in early 2026. The local chain EVOS is the largest player by volume.
Why isn't Uzbekistan in the Big Mac Index?
The Big Mac Index compares the price of one identical product across countries. Uzbekistan has no McDonald's restaurant, so there is no Big Mac to price and The Economist publishes no row for it. We list Uzbekistan with an editorial note explaining the absence instead of a number — see our methodology.
